MyFitnessPal's AI coach isn't here yet.
In India and the Philippines, MyFitnessPal's new AI Coach isn't available. Trackbie's is — everywhere, and it plans your day for you.
Get the AppReactive vs. automatic
MyFitnessPal introduced an AI Coach in summer 2026 —by their own announcement, it's a chat you ask questions to. It doesn't build a full day's meal plan on its own — you have to prompt it. It's also gated to Premium/Premium+ subscribers and, at its June 2026 launch, waslimited to the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. As of this writing, perMyFitnessPal's own Help Center, it's expanded to include Ireland — but it's still iOS-only. That means in India and the Philippines specifically, and on Android everywhere, MyFitnessPal currently has no AI coach at all.
Trackbie's AI coach and Plan My Day work the same way everywhere we operate — no region gate, no platform gate, and no need to ask first.
MyFitnessPal'sAugust 2026 Summer Releaseadded a brand-new Plan tab — built from scratch, not a rebrand of something older. But even this, their newest planning feature, still leaves the decision to you: it's a browse-and-log tool, where you filter recipes by goal, revisit saved meals, and tap to log one yourself. Trackbie's Plan My Day works differently — your AI coach picks for you, automatically, from your last 7 days, with no browsing required. (For fairness: Plan My Day is part of Trackbie's Premium plan, not our free tier, and MyFitnessPal's Plan tab is free for all their members — so this isn't a free-vs-paid comparison, it's automatic vs. manual, and that's the gap that actually matters.)
Feature by feature
Automatic day planning
Trackbie: Plan My Day (Premium) builds your full day automatically, no prompting needed.
MyFitnessPal: AI Coach responds when asked; their free-for-all Plan tab (added Aug 2026) is a browse-and-log recipe tool, not an automatic full-day plan.
AI coach availability
Trackbie: Available everywhere we operate, including India and the Philippines.
MyFitnessPal: Limited to Premium/Premium+ subscribers on iOS, in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Accountability
Trackbie: Squads — an integrated, in-app group feature.
MyFitnessPal: Their in-app Challenges feature was removed in 2022; what remains is a web-based community forum, not an in-app group feature.
Food database
MyFitnessPal's real strength: a 20.5-million-food manual database — the largest in the category, built over more than a decade.
Trackbie: A different approach — snap a photo or describe a meal by voice, and skip the search bar entirely.
Frequently asked questions
What's a good alternative to MyFitnessPal?
Trackbie is a strong MyFitnessPal alternative for anyone who wants proactive coaching rather than manual logging — it automatically plans your meals and offers an AI coach chat that, unlike MyFitnessPal's, is available in India and the Philippines.
Does Trackbie have as large a food database as MyFitnessPal?
No — MyFitnessPal's manual food database, at over 20 million entries, is far larger than Trackbie's. That's by design: Trackbie is built around photo, voice, and text recognition rather than a searchable database, so you don't need to search a list to add a meal in the first place.
